copyright laws
Copyright laws affect what students and teachers can and cannot use while in
the classroom. The definition of copyright is, "The legal right granted
to an author, a composer, a playwright, a publisher, or a distributor to
exclusive publication, production, sale, or distribution of a literary,
musical, dramatic, or artistic work." (Educational CyberPlayGround). It
protects the way authors express themselves. Copyright laws affect different things such as anything that is printed sucvh as articles on the internet, news paper, magazines and so forth. , music, videos,
images, and computer software that teachers use in the classroom. When
students use different materials from outside things such as text books, the
internet, or journals, they need to first cite the sources that they got their information. Including a works cited page with their papers
can help students avoid plagiarism.
